What is MyCityFaces.com^TM? Top

MyCityFaces.com^TM is the Internets newest self advertising service and sales directory. We are made up of the people that make a business! Our unique approach has been considered by many to be revolutionary and will become the place to have a promotional profile.

Many people are starting to go to Social Networking sites to try and promote themselves, which is not only unprofessional but often obscures the line between personal and business. Besides Social Networks are for meeting friends not for promoting yourself. At MyCityFaces.com^TM you only have to spend 15-20 minutes posting a profile and then updating it every couple of months or as we offer new features. Compared to other social media options this one is by far the easiest and will get you the most leads.

Why did you start MyCityFaces.com^TM? Top

We started MyCityFaces.com^TM to do 2 things, help people find someone for a particular service and to give service industry professionals a classy, clean place to have a profile to advertise themselves. No more going to Social Networks to make a profile.

We wanted to create a service where people could “test drive” an individual or see if they even match your needs and morals before you pick up the phone and make that initial call. And to make a place for someone to post an “Internet Billboard” or “Electronic Business Card” of themselves.

How will MyCityFaces.com^TM help me? Top

In helping people find someone for a particular service, we’ve found the only current options are to go to the many business directories and search through the hundreds of names that are listed. How do you pick one? Reviews are not very reliable, throw darts? Pick one with a pretty name?

At MyCityFaces.com^TM you can search through friendly faces in your immediate local area, click on them and read their profile and decide if they meet your needs. No more guessing or worrying that the appointment you made will be a waste of time or will make you uncomfortable.

By putting up a free profile, you will be including yourself in the Internets largest directory of service related people in a small localized advertising format. As MyCityFaces.com^TM grows we will narrow down the search area to make sure that it stays smaller, more personable and never becomes overbearing with too many listings. We will always allow you to be in 3 areas for free and will often have special promotions showcasing individuals.

What does it cost? Top

This service is absolutely free and will remain to be free to post your profile on up to 3 areas for a long time, unless something major happens. Unfortunately I don’t have a crystal ball and I was taught to never say never! All joking aside we hope to keep this service free!

How does MyCityFaces.com^TM make money? Top

MyCityFaces.com^TM will make money by placing unobtrusive local banner ads on every page in the site. As this gains momentum everyone will want to be somehow listed on it and not every business is able to post profiles, so we will offer them strategically placed ads to help them promote their business as well.

For example, the Salon owner may have all of their stylists, nail techs etc with profiles up but they may want to place a banner for the Salon. Or a Restaurant may want to have a banner ad.

We are regular people here too and don’t like cluttered up in your face advertising but in order make this a free service we have to have advertising.

Can anyone sign up? Top

Anyone in the Sales or Service Industry is able to join for free and promote themselves in a mature and classy environment. Don’t feel left out if you are not in these professions, MyCityFaces.com^TM offers many options for you to promote your business as well, just contact us for information.

Why don’t you offer Review’s? Top

We feel that the rating and review system that most service directory sites include is over done and too easily manipulated. Most reviews that are done are often done by the business that is being reviewed and most bad reviews are posted by that impossible to please customer. Unfortunately mistakes are sometimes made yes the business should learn from those mistakes but it doesn’t need to be forever etched in stone, haunting and humiliating that business. You can’t make 100% of the people happy 100% of the time, yet we should all strive for that.

At MyCityFaces.com^TM we have our own answer to reviews, we have a “Recommendation System” in place. People with profiles on MyCityFaces.com^TM will have the ability to recommend peers and to be recommended.

Profile Q’s

Do I need to put up a photo of myself? Top

Yes, we require a photo of yourself on the main page. We have been a little relaxed about it at this early stage but will start requiring it soon. Don’t worry about what it looks like, people generally feel more comfortable with that person that has a calming look than a “10.“ As more people sign up you will realize this isn’t a beauty contest and that it’s about attracting prospective clients that feel comfortable working with you, the kind of clients you make for life. You don’t want a client that shows up and you are not what they expected, you will never see them again. Unfortunately it is the type of society we live in, I didn’t make the rules, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. For every seat there is an - well you know.

So go ahead and put up that photo of you! You don’t need that professional head shot, just something that shows who you are. It can even be a cropped photo of you out on the town with friends.

How do I put up a Video? Top

At this time you need to upload your video to You Tube and then copy and paste the code into the video section. Video marketing is fast becoming the premier marketing tool on the Internet and I highly recommend you make a short “Infomercial” of yourself to post on your profile.

How many Photos can I have? Top

We allow everyone to post 6 additional photos. I strongly recommend you use them! Put up photos of the outside of your business, or of your work station. Maybe photos of recent projects or your dog pookie! The idea of MyCityFaces.com^TM is to post a profile that will attract clients that can relate to you, feel comfortable when they call you and realize that you are a person too. It’s up to you what you put up, I just recommend taking advantage of them and using them to highlight your profession.

How does the Recommends section work? Top

The Recommends section works almost like a point system, the more people that recommend you the better of a “rating” you will get. Every one that has a profile has lots of people they can refer to MyCityFaces.com^TM. Most of us have a Hairstylists, Nail Tech, Realtor, Chiropractor, that favorite Limo service etc that you can refer and then recommend them and in turn have them recommend you.

What should I put in the About Me section? Top

Put up whatever you think would give a good description of what you have to offer. Some people a writing a short paragraph and some are adding a whole page of information. We recommend having a paragraph about your business and then having a paragraph about you specifically. Again anything that will give prospective clients an idea of who you are so you can retain them for life!

Do I need to put my Age? Top

No, not if you don’t want it. Just be sure to click the yes or no button on your profile update page.

Can I pay to be in more Cities? Top

Yes, in the future we will set up a program to allow you to be posted in more than three areas. Make sure you read your Newsletters for info on when that option will be available.

Can anyone have a Banner ad? Top

Yes, anyone can have a banner ad. We will be running promotions periodically offering a chance to earn 1 month of free banner ad. You will have to supply your own 728x90 banner.

How Much does a banner ad cost? Top

Rates will vary depending on length of time and how many cities/areas you would like your banner to show up on. We are in the process of making different sizes available but for now we are currently offering 3 months contracts only. Please email advertise@mycityfaces.com
